The story of our hotel
The nicest part of the story of our hotel is that it is written anew every day.
It was Wednesday, 1 April 1998 that the public eye again settled on us when we were pleased
to welcome the first guests back into our fully renovated and refurbished Hotel Niedersächsischer Hof, almost 70 years to the day after its first opening on 17 April 1930.
The history of this hotel began when
the famous Goslar hotelier,
opened his latest hotel, the Niedersächsischer Hof, on Maundy Thursday in the year 1930 in a central location between the railway station and the historic Old Town.
Goslar’s new top address was to be found in a building which incorporated the fabric of an existent villa originating from 1894.
In a supplement to the Goslarsche Zeitung newspaper dated 17 April 1930, the article provided the following information:
“Every bathroom includes a laundry warmer, a WC and other comforts.
Every room has a telephone and a novel signalling arrangement to call a waiter, a hostess or a servant.
It hardly needs mentioning that all rooms have hot and cold running water and steam central heating.”
A vision becomes reality
19 June 1996 was the day in which hope was rekindled with the signing of a contract of sale for a hotel building by the adjacent Volksbank.
Hope for a new beginning following many years of slow deterioration, stand-still and ultimately decay.
Since 1 March 2010 the hotel has belonged to the Concorde Hotels Deutschland group:
a full team of friendly, motivated staff look
after the wishes and fulfil the expectations
of their guests.
Within just a short period of time the Hotel Niedersächsischer Hof quickly regained its reputation as the top hotel in town.
The success and the recognition enjoyed by
the enterprise and its hardworking team are a continuous motivation for aspiring to achieving excellence of service at all times.
All of which also confirms on a daily basis that the decisions taken were the right ones.
The “grand old dame of Goslar hostelries” has reawakened from its long beauty sleep.
“We love & live hospitality!”
The art of hospitality…
is alive and well at Hotel Niedersächsischer Hof.
From hosts with heart.
For the very best guests we could ever hope to have.
